Life Skills This environment is primarily used for hands-on cooking projects. While preparing and cooking the projects, children learn to measure, weigh, mix, appropriate use of the oven and microwave and all other aspects of cooking. Also, the children are taught basic food facts, sanitation of the room, proper hand-washing procedures, table etiquette, and appliance safety. The room is set up to accommodate 15 children at a time. The Cultural Cooking Club uses this environment for their cooking activities. Life skills is also used for art projects that require cooking on a stovetop or in an oven.
