Each child will be eligible for up to 4 hours of free child care every week, but may not exceed 16 hours of free care per child each month.  Each child will be issued a punch card that must be presented at the front desk when signing the child in for a program.  The hours on the card may only be used for the child to whom the card is issued.  Unused hours may not be transferred to another child or family.  LOST CARDS WILL NOT BE REPLACED UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MONTH.   

All children who utilize the free child care program must be fully registered prior to using these openings.  You may register your child free of charge if you will not be using any other CYS program.  Call the CYS Central Registration (CR) office, 384-7483, for additional information.

You may request care by calling CR no earlier than two weeks in advance to make reservations for the openings you wish to use.  When you call the office, you will be issued a confirmation number for each reservation you make.  Please keep these numbers handy.  You will need them in the event you decide to cancel your reservations.

If you find you do not need your reserved spaces, you must provide a 24-hour cancellation notification to the CR Office so the slot may be filled by someone on the waiting list.  Exceptions to this policy would be an emergency or a sick child, at which times parents should then notify the CR Office as soon as possible that their children will not be in attendance.  If you cancel a reservation you will be issued a cancellation number for each reserved space. Please keep these numbers for reference.  You will be asked for them if there are any future references to the space.  Failure to cancel each reserved space will result in a “NO SHOW” for that space.  

“NO SHOW” policy as follows:

           (1)  Parents must pay $3.50 per hour for each reserved child care slot which is identified as a “NO SHOW.”  This means, if two slots were reserved and neither child attended, the parent will pay a total of $7.00 per hour for the number of hours of the opening.

           (2)  After one (1) “NO SHOW” without payment for unused child care, the patron is no longer eligible for future child care.  All current reservations will be cancelled and no future reservations maybe made until after payment is received.

            (3)  After two (2) “NO SHOWS,” the family is no longer eligible for future child care, whether or not they pay for the unused spaces.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Any STACC or Special Opening may be cancelled in the event of:

          (1)  A national disaster or emergency.
          (2)  A mandatory pre-deployment FRG briefing.      
          (3)  An emergency meeting called by the Rear Detachment Commander.
          (4)  A base closure or facility closure inclement weather.
